According to available data, the average global temperature over the past 12 months has been 1.30 ℃ above the 20th-century baseline (from 1951 to 1980).  The Dead Sea is a unique ecosystem that is rapidly disappearing. The water level in the Dead Sea is dropping by 1 meter every year. The cause of this disaster is a water shortage due to the diversion of the Jordan River and its tributaries for domestic and industrial needs of neighboring countries. Because of this, the Dead Sea waters are not replenished. Also, due to the drying up of the Dead Sea, sinkholes are forming in the receding water, where underground salt deposits remain. These places collapse into huge chasms, or are washed away by groundwater. Some of these sinkholes are gigantic: about 100 meters in diameter and 50 meters deep!!!  Plastic has taken over our world. The UN estimates that the number of tiny microplastic particles is now greater than the number of stars in the Galaxy. Plastic and in the air, water and soil.
